Fluted Glass Vase (Photo)
I made this single-flower vase in Toyama prefecture in Japan when I visited glass making school three years ago. Toyama is known for beautiful glass art, and many famous glass artists have studied here. Blowing glass and shaping is very difficult. I had to work as quickly as possible. I was required to control my strength perfectly. It was all about timing. In the end it turned out to be unsymmetrical shape, but looks very unique and cute!
Now my first masterpiece has been one of my treasures and I am enjoying putting seasonal flower in it.
I surround myself with interesting art objects, they invite me into surroundings to work, and constantly provide joy. The famous Architects Charles and Ray Eames were about the same notion, as one can see in their iconic house in Pacific pallisades in Los Angeles.
